I've been to Brown's Social House in Brentwood many a time for drinks, but on a rare occasion, I was there for drinks and got hungry. Deciding to give their menu a try, we had a quick lunch and sampled two of their offerings. They have quite a few salads on their menu, so we opted for the Blackened Chicken Cowboy Salad. There are some house greens, walnuts, dates, black beans, and feta on the salad, and it comes with a honey lime vinaigrette. A Cowgirl version is also available with grilled chicken and a Apple-Miso Vinaigrette. The staff split the salad into two for us, and the resulting portions were still pretty big. I don't think I could finish a whole one by myself. I didn't see much black beans on my portion, but there were some edamame in there, which was a nice touch. You can't tell from the picture, but they even split up the bread stick into half for us. The salad itself was good, fresh spinach being the key ingredient. I liked the tomatoes but could have done without the walnuts, though that's just personal quirk. Not to be overly healthy, we also got an order of the Dry Ribs. This was good, but lacking a bit of heat, which we accomplished ourselves with a side of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. The ribs were flash fried and quite meaty, but there were some rather fatty pieces in the bunch too. The serving was enough to share and I did like the addition of rosemary on the ribs instead of just salt and pepper.
Take Note:
Wings and Ribs are just $6 daily from 3-6pm
$4 glass of house red or white and beer available, but splurge and get the $5 bellini instead
Note taken! Thanks :)
